What better way for President Barack Obama to promote economic recovery than to visit small businesses in Savannah.

I spoke with the owners of one new small business about what it meant to them to have the commander in chief stop by for a tour.

The owners of Meddin Studios are still trying to wrap their heads around the president's visit after all, they just got the certificate of occupancy recently.

“Now that he's been here and you know visited it's just kind of trying to process the magnitude of it. it's pretty exciting it doesn't get any better as far as having the president show up on your door step,” says Jon Foster, principle and technical director.

It's a business that showcases other small businesses, helping them produce their commercials, especially when they don't have the advertising budget for a huge production.

"To know that we made the cut and that we represented Savannah is probably the biggest thing is that we put, we hopefully put Savannah on the map to where creative world will continue to come to Savannah," says Nick Gant, principle and creative director.

Earlier the president had lunch at Mrs. Wilkes, but at Meddin Studios he was shaking hands with Savannah restaurant owner and Food Network host Paula Deen, her son Jamie and her husband Michael Groover.

Deen may be a big name now, but she remembers where she came from and is still in awe meeting the president.

"So cool, a little southwest Georgia girl that barely graduated from high school getting to meet the president. We live in America where dreams come true," said Paula Deen.

"I was kind of nervous. It was the last thing I thought about last night and the first thing I thought about this morning, and I got mom here an hour early. There are very few times in your life when you have the opportunity that you get to meet somebody who's the first at anything," said Jamie Deen.

Jamie Deen said he's excited to tell his son Jack about the experience when he grows up.
