Scholarships and Grants
As projects continue to come to area we want to make sure students, independent filmmakers and local companies are able to take advantage of these opportunities without the need for outside resources coming to the region.
Many of these projects come with internships, production assistance needs or are looking for more advance talents. Meddin will be a collaborative company that can pass these opportunities to those individuals looking for these experiences. This region has wealth of fantastic students, independent artists, animators and filmmakers. This is not just a single source to find opportunities only with Meddin but the Southeast as a whole.

The Digital Media Scholarship is funded by a group of forward thinking businesses embracing new technology and the arts. These companies have a presence locally, regionally and nationally within technology and innovation . These companies have all made an investment by hiring, were solely created through entrepreneurial spirit, or support the Savannah College of Art and Design’s alumni. The scholarship was built to reward students that show a presence beyond the classroom and a nontraditional path to forwarding their education.
Scholarship covers 25% of the class tuition per academic year for four years (not to include room and board, books and materials, application and/or institutional fees). Scholarship is set up to allow the nontraditional student to finish school at their pace. The benefit is in the students favor to take advantage of the summer quarters, the option of taking an additional class per quarter and finishing early to fully maximize the monetary value of the scholarship potential.
Every Artist has a story. This story is often told through their work, through their accomplishments and failures, or buried inside their experience. The path is truly unique. This industry is constantly changing, sometimes as often as the technology, but the basic foundations and fundamentals are still integral to the core of a true artist. The Digital Media Scholarship rewards the art by providing the tools, the education and the resources to continue to mature the artistic visions rather than setting parameters.
The nontraditional path is not strictly defined, this is left to interpretation. We are looking for students that have taken their art beyond the institutional boundaries, into the community and have explored the business of using their craft. These can range from Grips, Gaffers, Stagehands, Painters, Illustrators, Graffiti Artists, freelance, volunteer, full-time, hobbyist, successful, failures and dreamers. We are rewarding the perseverance, not the accomplishments.
